All games are known to work on 2 other wiis that this softmod worked perfectly on. Any suggestions? go through the process again?
If other games work then the softmod installed properly.

So if your having a problem with a particular game please start a new thread with your issue.

First off I'd like to say awesome guide.

I have a few questions regarding this whole softmod thing since I'm a bit new to it all.

I know what RegionFrii does, but what exactly does Brickblocker? I read about something regarding updates but I don't understand what it does.

Also, I read somewhere about turning Wiiconnect24 off to be able to softmod. I guess that's not the case for this guide?

Will a 32 MB SD card work fine to softmod and to use USB Loader?

And one last thing, does the LU64 fix work for LU65?

Edit: Okay I dl'ed the fix. The readme says:

IMPORTANT: NEVER DOWNGRADE YOUR LU64 WII!! IT WILL BRICK!! DO NOT USE CIOSCORP OR IT WILL BRICK!!

and

DO NOT INSTALL ANY OTHER CIOS AT THIS TIME! YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE R11 WHEN IT IS READY AND CONFIRMED SAFE

So what steps should I skip from this guide and can someone please go into a little bit more detail on what this means as I'm new to this whole softmodding scene and have no idea what all this is.

It is - my guess is around 7/1 or before - last time ultimate sticky thread was edited.

@MadUps311
Snip it of the rule for pm's- 'users asking questions that could be asked and replied by other users in public forums as well. So, send only messages that have content that's meant to be private or you get booted.'
Hopefully you aren't violating that though the above being your only post here well my guess would be you are.

ok sorry

I was modding my sisters wii today,

and after following this guide

none of my backups or even originals will boot

I do not know what was done wrong, but I think I followed the guide perfectly

I also do not know how to install bootmii, since it says in the guide that you need to install it later (after cios) but the tutorial doesn't get back to it.

and in iosdowngrader do we need to eventually do patchmii, or dvdx since it says in the tutorial to skip it

I would like to eventually boot solely from usb hdd

I need to get this wii back to working, or modded soon, she uses it often

thank you

Update to 4.1 firmware. Then run IOS60Patched.wad and IOS Downgrader. Then try installing the new Homebrew Channel.

After that you can install Preloader .29, cIOSCorp, CIOS60BF.wad then reinstall Preloader .29 again.

ok, If I do all this, what program will launch my backup games from disc? Will it still be backup launcher or disc channel? Thanx again for all of your expertise. :)

Also, Do I need to skip the guide and just start at the point after the 4.1 update? Will my saved games and stuff be affected or anything I need to do to keep from having it erased? Sorry for all the nubeee questions.

OK, I did the update to 4.1 using the wii resort disc and now it will play but, my system info says I am still at 3.4U. Do I need to try to update again? My homebrew updated to new version, backup launcher still works and all but, the screen still does not show the sd card and all like i saw pictures of the new ios showing sd card ect. Should maybe I just stop and leave as is since all my games seem to play or would I be missing lots of features if my Wii does not show 4.1U ? I hope I am describing my issues ok for you and thanx for all your info too. Thanx a Million

It is listed in the Ultimate Sticky Thread. They added all the stickied threads in that thread to clean up the forum.

@MadUps311

I get tons of PM's and usually ignore them unless I know the person that sent it. If you have an issue ask it in this thread or start a new thread.

As for your issue I have no idea why you can't play regular games. The softmod should not effect that.

@Lightduty

Do the steps that I explained in my previous reply to your post. If you do this then you should be able to launch the disc from the disc channel.

As for updating to 4.1 did I say to update to 4.1 with the Wii Sports Resort disc? No I said update the system like you normally would. I don't think Wii Sports Resort updates the Wii Menu firmware. It just installs a few IOS files.

Ok, I will try the system update, I thought they would be the same update. I can as right now,play all my backups and new games like resort that I wil be trying to make a backup of that too. I will do the system update from system menu and then Then run IOS60Patched.wad and IOS Downgrader but when I run the downgrader, will I be asked to choose what to downgrade to? Then I will install Preloader .29, cIOSCorp, CIOS60BF.wad then reinstall Preloader .29 again. Is this right? Sorry for being the dummy. :)

I noticed that the softmod tutorial was updated the other night and there is one slight change that the avg user would miss, or I was just too lazy to look at all 90+ pages of threads to see if anybody else noticed. But my question is, in that lil change that was made from cIOS38_rev13a Installer to cIOS38_rev14 Installer, Should I make the changes to my wii and or is this a passive update? And what did this change do? If you can kindly direct me to the thread that explains this, it would be much appreciated. Also how to change if necessary.

The softmod guide will turn your Wii into a toaster oven. Did this question really need to be asked?

All users are on different levels,and some just need to ask that little bit extra wether or not there question has been answered already or not lol.

Just admit your question was pointless. If you spent your time reading the guide and actually reading some of the past post that others have asked and have been posted you wouldn't have had to ask this question. Instead you ask the pointless question anyway and add to the 100's of other pointless questions in this thread that users have to wade through.

I admit maybe I should have just ignored it like I do most other pointless questions so i don't add to the pointless post in the forum but this is 1 time I couldn't help myself.

Not sure wether its a matter or not if my question was stupid or not,but i think its a fair shout that every user is on a different level,and some do reqiure a bit more patience than others and even when faced with simple guides some may still struggle a little to take it all in firts few times of reading them because of the lack of expirience in attempting the job in hand.

This is a softmod guide.

There are 100's of previous post about backup game disc issues some loading and some not loading.

And you still have to ask if this will let you play backups without a Modchip?

Yeah there are different levels of knowledge but I would hope you would know the difference between a Softmod and a Hardmod. If not then maybe your not ready to dive in yet. Do a little more research on the Wii modscene.

Or maybe you should update your guide to tell people what exactly your new softmodded Wii can and cannot do after modding is complete to avoid another million stupid questions.

Why so lazy ass people like you don't have to do any work?

There is no need to update the guide.

Most are smart enough to know what the diffrence between a softmod and a hardmod is. If they don't most will actually take the time and use google (or some other serach engine) to find out what the diffrence is.
