There have been 6590 members that have downloaded the softmod pack in the past month. Only a handful have had issues which usually is due to not following the guide properly. So I feel pretty good at the quality of my work in this guide.

My SD card rootdirectory looks like the picture exactly. When I put my SD card in the Wii it reckognizes the SD card but doesnt see any files (FAT32) and subsequently doesnt prompt me for installation.
I am on 4.1E . Please gimme a hand here guys! Could this because of the bannerbomb versions ? I tried them all!
I just got a Wii 4.1U LU1122...
I have exactly the same issue.
- Clean new system
- Just upgraded to 4.1U from official site.
PLEASE HELP
I have now bought a few different SD cards and formatted them both FAT32 and also tried FAT.
Tried with winzip, 7sip, winrar
ALL FAILS
Does this mean this whole thread only works for old Wiis and not at all for any new Wee?
Please give me your experience here ASAP
Thanks a lot for a great threat otherwise,
Are you sure you are going to DATA MANGMENT/CHANNELS and not game saves?
Try this mate it worked for me..:)
http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/
Sure enough. That solved it. Thanks a lot for the pointer.

So which was it?
Where you going to DATA MANAGEMENT/GAME SAVES instead of channels
Or did the link app fix the issue?

I am very frustrated, I followed all directions perfectly, my wii has never been tampered with before this.
My problem is sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't I have 4.1u and I had cios38 rev14 and a have since downgraded to 13a and still no better, the neogamma channel is worthless, it will not load any games, always times out.
Again half the time the games load great in the disc channel, then it has spells when no matter what I do it goes black and says disc error and restart the wii. doesn't matter what game, What could be changing that would make it work sometimes and then other times not work?
Here are my specs,
4.1u system
cios38 rev13a (but i had 14 with same problem)
preloader .29
bootmii
neogammar6
Using Memorex DVD-Rs some burned at 4x some burned at 2x

NeoGamma is not worthless. Allot of users use it with no issues. It is actually one of if not the best loader out at this time.
More then likely your issue is the MEMOSUX media your using. Try Verbatim or Tayio Yuden premium. Burn with IMGBurn at half the rated speed of the media.
And before you ask cheap media can play fine sometimes but can give read errors at other times.
If you still have issue after using better media then it is possible the laser needs cleaned or replaced in the Wii DVD drive unit.

Thanks, I will try new media tomorrow, just now I tried putting in a real wii game disc into the wii, ofcourse it loaded, then i ejected it and tried the same burned disc i have been trying for the last 10 minutes and it loaded! So its like putting in a real disc fixes the problem, does that hint to anyone what the problem could be, if it doesn't happen to be the media, which I will try changing tomorrow.
Again, I put in the burned disc like 10 times.. wait and it gives me the black screen, disc error, restart wii. then I put in a real wii game disc, it loads and I eject then put in the same burned disc and it finally loads?
Other times I have seen it not load games but when I try the transformers burned disc it loads then the rest of the games load. There has got to be something going on with this.
O, and I didn't mean the neogamma is completely worthless, just meant on my system it is doing me no good.
Thanks Larry!

Alright so I have a total newbie question, but I still need to ask it. I've only modded my PSP before, so I'm not familiar with the Wii mods. I have firmware 4.0u and the serial number starts with LU33, so I'm good there. So I just need to update to 4.1 using the Nintendo servers like I normally would. My question is if I follow this guide will I be able to download ISO's, burn them onto a disc, and play them on my Wii? Kind of like a modded PSP, without burning the ISO on to a disc of course. I've read this soft mod will allow you to play backup discs, but to me that is different then burning an ISO to a disc. Sorry for the dumb questions, just trying to get a definitive answer.

I posted this, which is obvisouly 180 degrees out of topic and get a response very quickly. My first questions coming to this forum were addressed by larry very promptly and concisley. I probably just over-looked this thread and didn't see my last questions asked in this thread, but it got a little irrating when service went from excelent to poor. Even getting a "use search dumb-ass" or "its been answered, so find it", would have sufficed. So I posted my final questions elsewhere and got my answers: http://www.wiihacks.com/general-homebrew...html#post123554

This is the Wii forum not the Big Screen TV forum. Plus he is a MOD so I would watch my tone when you talk to him if you don't want to take a vacation.

I got an idea why not look over the site you downloaded Bootmii from.

Vacation or no vacation, it doesn?t really matter to me. I would just hope that after the dust settles that there might be some realization that some questions warrant a response, esp. if they are not answered in the OP and relatively on-topic. But if they are so obviously answered in the OP, such as the num-nut above asking about bootmii, then sure flame away or ignore the user.
This is a very good tut that you?ve posted?I would have to critique help in that a support person should try his/her best to sheppard a user through the process?unless it?s documented with every response of a particular action. For example in the user guide of bootmii?when I initiated the backup of the NAND to the SD card, the screen just sat there for about 5 minutes before anything happened. Seeing the ?do not? symbol over the icon of the controller kept me from doing anything, but hell, how hard would it have been to just say in the guide that the process will be static for ~ 5 minutes so be patient. I could have screwed things up if I had been more impatient. Just like in your tutorial, perhaps if you added (note: BU?s used will sometimes cause the Wii Disc CHL to show ?Disc Update?, just ignore this or perform the update ONLY if the disc is your region player i.e. NTSC player and NTSC disc is okay, but NTSC player and PAL disc may cause issues.)

Thank you for the guide. I followed it and it worked perfectly so many thanks.
I have a question which is on behalf of a friend of mine. He has tried following your guide but he has the following problems:
1. After the Homebrew stage he gets a message which says "Unable to flush the log to the SD Card" and
2. After selecting the IOS35 downgrade he gets a message which says "It thinks I am a pirate Bye!"
Any suggestions what may be going wrong?
Many thanks

Please help this lost soul, i follwed all the steps, starting with the link to the "offline upgrade", then had a second SD card with the other files you said to have on it. Googled the IOS38 file and put that on there also, ran it fine. Started IOS Downgrader but it locked up so i restarted the system and continued on since the guide said this step wasn't mandatory. Next i ran the Wad manager and installed the IOS249 then the NeoGammaR6 files.
Here's where the S@@3 hit the fan, i hit home then tried to get back to the HB channel and i got some crazy message (can't tell what it was due to it being unreadable) but i could tell it was 3 lines and said something with the owners manual.
I followed ever step and didn't skip a thing, did i just brick my system and is there a way to recover it? The guide was awesome and very helpful. thanks in advance EA
