Did you use this guide or the linked Offline guide? If you used the linked Offline guide then ask your question in that guide.

But if they are so obviously answered in the OP, such as the num-nut above asking about bootmii, then sure flame away or ignore the user.

This is a very good tut that you?ve posted?I would have to critique help in that a support person should try his/her best to sheppard a user through the process?unless it?s documented with every response of a particular action. For example in the user guide of bootmii?when I initiated the backup of the NAND to the SD card, the screen just sat there for about 5 minutes before anything happened. Seeing the ?do not? symbol over the icon of the controller kept me from doing anything, but hell, how hard would it have been to just say in the guide that the process will be static for ~ 5 minutes so be patient. I could have screwed things up if I had been more impatient. Just like in your tutorial, perhaps if you added (note: BU?s used will sometimes cause the Wii Disc CHL to show ?Disc Update?, just ignore this or perform the update ONLY if the disc is your region player i.e. NTSC player and NTSC disc is okay, but NTSC player and PAL disc may cause issues.)
If you think you could do a batter job then feel free to do it. No one is forcing you to use this guide. But asking a Big Screen TV question in a Wii softmod guide is just a waist of time and space.

So I have my backups of wii games working just fine thanks to this thread, even on +R media. I have a few gamecube back ups that I cannot get to boot. I am looking for more info on how to install wiigator, or something to get them going. The wii recognizes the cube disc but green screens and restarts after I try loading with neogamma or from the disc channel. I thought if I followed the last step in the tutorial:

Quote:
Game Cube Support:

1) Launch the Homebrew Channel via the Wii channel menu. Select the cMIOS_rev3 in the Homebrew Channel list. This will start the installer. You need to press A to accept that you have read the disclaimer.

You have 2 options on how to install the cMIOS files (you do not need to do both options!)...

WAD Installation: Google RVL-mios-v8.wad and download it. Then place it in the root of the SD Card. Then chose WAD Instillation option.

Network Installation: At the instillation option screen press right 1 time on the D-pad of the Wiimote. This will download the files via WiFi.

After you have selected the option you want and installed the cMIOS your Wii should reboot to the Wii Channel menu.

Now you can launch the backup Game Cube games from the NeoGamma R6 backup launcher channel in the Wii channel menu.
I have done this....I think. I'm using cIOS38_rev13a Installer, is that the right app to run?

Hi,

I've a question about USB loader (by Waninkoko). It says that a "Custom IOS36 rev 10 or above" is required. Following the tutorial, I did install the cIOS38_rev14, but it was then downgraded and I don't know to which version.

So, does anyone know if it's safe to install the USB loader on WII with exact setup as explained in this tutorial (apart from Gamecube support)?

Hi, first off. Thank you larry for this amazing guide. I've been enjoying my Wii backups for about a week now because of you. And with very little effort on my part.
However, I am having problems with loading my first GameCube backup. And I've tried searching for the solution, but haven't found it. So forgive me for asking, if this has already been answered. I followed your guide exactly, right down to the GameCube support and loading backups through the Disc Channel (and it works superbly with Wii games.) The only thing difference is, I never installed DVDX --- I just don't wanna play DVD movies with my wii.

Anyway, the Disc Channel seems to be able to read my GC backup, but when I try to run it, the wii just restarts. So I tried running it through NeoGammaR6. Loading the game from DVD brings me to a green screen, and then restarts.
Then I checked the Compatibility list and it says to Press B to reboot the loader-- the game is Pokemon Colossem, btw. But when I try to do that, I get an "Exception (DSI) occured!" error along with a code dump. And I need to do a hard reset to get out of it.
What does this mean? How do I fix this?

If needed I can type out the entire error screen. My serial is LU32. I followed the guide entirely, so my setup is exactly as it should be (I think) but let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks a whole bunch!

I want to update my Wii ti syatem 4.1 and still have the capability to play my backup games from disc with backup launcher or whichever means that will work. Can you direct me to the thread or link that gives a detailed description on how to do these updates that a 60 year old might can do, lol . Thanks in advance for any info or help that you can provide. Thanks Again from a very newbie
Update to 4.1 firmware. Then run IOS60Patched.wad and IOS Downgrader. Then try installing the new Homebrew Channel.

After that you can install Preloader .29, cIOSCorp, CIOS60BF.wad then reinstall Preloader .29 again.
Hey Larry, Thanx again for all your help. I did all these steps and I thought all my games would play but all my previous backups get error after I click start game.My backup of resort and excitebots trick racing work. When I am exiting Homebrew channel it says Homebrew v 1.0.3 , IOS55 V18.25. What would be the next step to get my other backups to launch again? Thanks

Read the guide (if you have to refresh the page to make sure you have all latest updates for the past week or so).

Try using a Game Cube backup launcher that is specific for Game Cube backups.

The guide clearly says if you do not have WiFi then use the Offline guide that I linked. No where does it say to follow that linked offline guide to update to 4.1 then come back to this guide.

If your newer backups are working then there should be no reason why your past backup disc should not work. As well just saying they get an error says nothing. A more specfic error message would be more helpfull. Along with how your launching those backups.

I was guessing on how to start but I figured out and used my orginal sd card then did these steps: Update to 4.1 firmware. Then run IOS60Patched.wad and IOS Downgrader. Then try installing the new Homebrew Channel.

After that you can install Preloader .29, cIOSCorp, CIOS60BF.wad then reinstall Preloader .29 again.
I had moved backup gamma 0.3 channel from wii to sd card and i just tried and moved it back to wii memory and it wil boot my previous BU games. Should I remove bacup gamma and install neogamma? Thanks again and I will check out the guide you just mentioned too. Thanks

I would use NeoGamma.

But do as I said use the other guide and start over by downgrading to 3.2 firmware. Do the guide to the letter. Do not skip any step.

Ok, If I understand correctly with the softmod I already have installed, I still need to start with step 1 in order to get downgraded to 3.2. I do not have bootmii or any other items installed. I will give this a shot after I get the ok I am right to start with step 1. Thanks Again :)

If you want Bootmii instaled then downgrade to 3.2 firmware first then install Bootmii. Bootmii can not be installed when cIOSCorp is instaled so install it before doing the cIOSCorp part of the guide. Again if you read the guide you would have known this.

Yes, But I thought I already installed cIOSCorp from the previous steps. So, previous install does not matter then?

Your asking for help and I am telling you what to do. If you don't want to follow what I said in my previous post then don't ask for help anymore. This is why I was getting short with you in the first place (not folowing my instructions).

So do as I ask.

Using the other guide follow STEP 1: Downgrade to 3.2 firmware. Then install Bootmii if you want it installed (If you want Bootmii then install it at this time). After that go to STEP 2: and finsih the rest of the guide to the letter. See if this fixes your issue with games not working from disc channel.

Are you booting from NeoGamma or the disc channel?

What game are you having this issue with?

If it is Wii Sports Resort giving you issue then look at the multiple other threads that have been started on how to get Wii Sports working. I am not going to add it to this thread. Users need to learn how to search and find answers to their questions when they have been answered already multiple times.
