I've got backup loader and homebrew channels installed. I followed the tutorial exactly I am fairly certain. Anyway so I take my memorex dvd-r backup of exciteboxs put it in, start up backup loader and... black screen with a gamma logo and a little green icon at the bottom at which point I have to reset my power off my wii to get it off the screen. Nothing else happens, my first thought was that I had a bad burn but the disc never seemed to spin and everyone else seems to be getting error messages with their bad burns I get nothing. What's that deal? Thanks in advance.

You might need to get diffrent media.

Use IMGBurn and burn at 4X.

Also make sure you have a proper ISO rip of the game.

No its not that. The Gamma title screen background comes up with a green icon in the bottom left of the screen but the menu never loads at least that's what I'm guessing as I've seen a few screen shots. The point is even without a game disc in the system the gamma menu should come up.

Did you format the SD Card or at least delete the private folder off the SD Card after you did these steps?

I don't know if the bannerbomb could effect the loader in anyway but be sure to delete it from the SD card.

If that still doesn't work then try uninstalling BULG.wad using wad manager from your Wii and reinstalling it again.

BULG.wad was uninstalled and reinstalled still nothing. I'm not 100% on what bannerbomb is but since the issue persists when the SD card is not even in the Wii could that be the problem?

Uninstall BULG.wad and download this WAD HERE and install it.

Just extract the file and place the WiigatorGamma.wad in the wad folder on the SD card. Then use wad manager to uninstall BULG.wad and then use wad manager to install WiigatorGamma.wad.

Thanks for your help but I might be beyond that now. I was trying to uninstall everything so as to reinstall it thinking possibly I made a mistake. Now my wii is bricked it turns on and my tv never gets off no signal.

I'm sorry to hear that
Do you try to uninstall IOS60?

Edit: Not sure if you did yet but just as a warning to anyone who may be reading I can't think of any situation where you should uninstall an IOS (with the exception of 202, 222, 249, or 254)
Especially not System Menu IOSes 30 and 60
Although in 4.0 60 replaces 30 as the System Menu IOS
And I forgot IOS 50 in 3.4
