Hello, I am looking for a mid-ranged priced router, that has everything I need for online gaming. At the moment I have a "Thomson SpeedTouch 585 v6" router, my connection on my PS3 is usually great at 3 or 4 green bars and my house is pretty small so my ps3 is somewhat near the router. At the moment we do have a few devices we connect to the router such as PC, XBOX 360, PSP, PS3 and Laptop. The reason I want to get a new router is so I can configure more stuff as I feel the router I have at the moment is restricting me from using DMZ or forwarding ports.

I have found this router which I think is great, does anybody have any other suggestions please, is D-Link a high quality brand such as netgear?

I like my D-link, mine is a draft N. If you want a really good D-link for gaming I'd try and find one of these: http://games.dlink.com/products/?pid=643&r=2#DGL-4500

lol you got a Thompson and your PS3 actually connects and lets you play?!!!

Are you with Be Broadband as those routers are the ones they usually give out?

If so then just check the Be forums you'll see Thompson routers are really bad with consoles! In fact many people have but their BeBox aside and bought Netgears cos their better and easier to use.

D-Link are a good company as well. But if you want a Netgear then a DG834GT is the one you want and you can get them for cheaper off ebay and you can install the DGTeam custom firmware as well.

I have AOL, the thomson router ain't very good, my friend who had AOL, took advantage of the free router they were giving out quicker then me and he got a netgear.

Anyway, I want to get a netgear, and I saw the range max WNR2000 in argos for £40, but I read you can't use DMZ on it, which is sad. So I might have to go with the D-Link on this one, offers me more for my money and I heard pretty good things about this router. Does anyone have a D-Link? Can you tell me if I can use DMZ and port forwarding please?

Yes I have a D-link, and yes you can port forward and use a DMZ (with my model anyway).
