I have tried out a few USB loaders and found that on my WII they all share the same bugs. I am making this to help those that may also be having the issues.

1) If the WII loses comunications with the controller to long the game will lock up (I aproximate the time to about 2 minutes). Solution, unplug the WII and plug it back in. Power back up. If the WII never loses communications then you can play forever.

2) Sometimes the Loader cant see the HD. Solution with the loaders that give a countdown to find it simply unplug the power from your HD (Not the USB) and plug it back in (while the timer is going). In other loaders you will have to power off the WII (With remote) and unplug the HD power. Turn the WII back on and wait for the Hit A to continue screen. At that screen plug the HD power back in. Go back to the loader and you will see the drive contents.

This may also be a problem if you have Connect 24 turned on. In this setup your drive may stay on while the WII is off. If this is your case then you may find that the loader never finds the drive. If so then Make sure the HD has no power until after the hit A to continue displays. I have not tested with Connect 24 turned off.

3) I dont know what this is related to but sometimes the controllers will switch roles without warning. 1 becomes 2 and 2 becomes 1. The only solution I have found to this is physicaly grab the one reassigned to 1. When it happens it is usualy very early in the boot process and does not happen again.

I hope this info is helpfull. Just simple things that I think is makeing some think this stuff does not work because of these issues. Keep in mind that bugs are expected in new software. These are very minor bugs but you still need to know how to get around them. Im sure as time goes on theese issues may be fixed.

Another solution for WiiConnect24 is to use a USB Loader (USB Loader GX has this option) that powers off the Wii not send it to standby.

There is a Power Off Channel you can download that will turn off the Wii instead of sending it into standby.

This letting you keep WiiConnect24 on but bypass the Standby mode turning your Wii off in turn turning off the USB device.

I have been looking for solutions to the problems above. I started having issues with the game "Animal crossing City" loking up while playing. Turnd out it was the IOS fault. I was using 36 v10. I started reading that others where downgrading to v9 to fix it. I gave it a go. The downgrade did fix the game issue as well as a couple other games locking up. The downside is that USB loaders cant display covers and some will not even run on v9. I do know that ultimate loader v7 will work on IOS36 v9 but will not display covers.

Although the above mentioned problems still do exsist they are not as frequent. Work arounds are still the same.

Hope this helps

USB Loader GX will work with covers and DVD Labels. Check it out (works with cIOS36_rev9). You can also try cIOS38_rev12 or 13b..

CIOS 38 has the exact same issues as 36 v10. I have tried them. 36 v9 is the only one that allows all my games to work without locking up. Ill have to try that loader to see if I can get covers back up.

After you unlock the loader you can click on the cover art to download them.

If you do it manually the cover art needs to be in SD:/images/ directory.

If you do the DVD labels manually they go in the SD:/images/disc directory.

The covers should be a factor of 4 like 160x224. The DVD labels should be a factor of 4 like 160x160.

The default password for the loader is ab121b.

i'd go with cIOS38_rev12. rev13 and 13b also locked up on me when choosing a new game; tested with usb loader GX and 1.1s simple.
