I updated my Hitachi Drive to 1.51 iXtreme last week and i decied to flash my stock BenQ to 1.6 iXtreme last night, so i connected it all up to 1 of my OnBoard SATA Ports, using the XBOX as power, i put the tray half open many different ways and when i come to find it in the ports it comes up as:
drive properties:
vendor : SATA
Name : DVD-ROM F/W : 6243
reserved : 0C
instead of saying VAD6308 or whatever it is called??
i have come accross this before some benq drives report as a dvd- rom but thier should still be some information that identifies it as a benq i went ahead and proceeded to flash and i did not have a problem

I believe the 62430 Firmware version is picked up like that. Just dump the firmware and see what it does. BenQ has 2 firmware versions, 62430 and 64930.
