just as the subject says.
I've already tried a new set of a/v cables. Nintendo is asking 75 dollars for a repair on it, and id much rather just fix it myself.

could be the system if you tried multiple cords. try on another tv before you make a full conclusion.

its been tried on another tv.
is there any way to fix this? because ive heard of this problem before, i just havent come across any tutorials.

Did you set your video setting to 480p?

If so and your TV isn't HD compatible or your not using component cables this could cause issues.

Fixes:

Using a composite cable turn on the Wii without the composite cable plugged into the TV. This should boot the Wii in 480i video mode. After the Wii boots plug the AV cables in (without turning off the Wii). If this works go into settings and change the video setting from 480p back to 480i.

Using a component cable plug the green wire into the yellow jack and you will get black and white so you can at least see the menu to change the video from 480p to 480i.
