cant see a seller being connected to any provider, did ya check the fuse in the plug? if its dead and its new, ask for a replacement, but as they are like hens teeth at the min, they may not have one to give you, just a theory, if they are willing to send some one to you find out who and when etc

if a box is under warranty, I would be mindful about opening or fiddling with it as it may void yer warranty,

if the box is dead it wont matter what firmware is on it as it will be returned to the manufacturer

best when dealing with a supplier to not put all the information on an open forum site for everyone to read that should be kept between you and the supplier.

I dont think any supplier would be to happy to see details they send you privately in email spread all over a forum after all you dont know what other people are reading this as well like the cable company's for instance

hope it works out for him he dosent seem to having much luck with it that company are very keen to get your money where as tmc will send back if you order now as they have to me and friends
i cant see the problem the box is dead so who is to say what firmware is on the box they will switch it on look at it its dead end off sent back to manufacture as they will get replacement for it they wont repair and boxes that are under warranty easier to return them and get new ones to send to customers
