I think you misread his post, lol. What he is saying is it has a new key since its a new drive and new MB. So in order to flash it you must pull the key off of the new Lite-on drive. So you are going to have to get the key, so why not just flash the lite-on?
Or are you saying you have a spare 360 that has a hitachi?
holy shit guys- i have a completely seperate,spare, backup xbox with a hitachi in it in addition to the lite on that i just got back. flashed it already so im leaving the lite on stock. i hope we are all clear :)
OMG!! you cant just take out the lite on and put in this hitachi drive you have. you have to spoof it with the key from the lite on. You got your xbox back from M$ with a new mother board and drive. That mother board is going to look for that drive because it has a key that matches it. So what they are saying is, seeing that you have to get the key off the lite on why not just flash it? I would rather have 1.6 then 1.51. I would rather have a new drive then a POS Hitachi.

hey newbie, were you even reading the posts???? why even respond to a month old thread? thanks for the info though, i've only been modding 360's for 2 years and have never heard of the motherboard and dvd being tied together. jesus.
