Hi, Ran into a problem when spoofing a Benq as a Hitachi 79 and now the drive is stuck in vendor mode. I know i can recover this in dosflash but I dont have a copy of the stock benq firmware (I do have the CD Key for my Motherboard tho). Can anybody help me out and email me it

Many thanks!

You can download all the firmware you need using xbins.

My apologies, its just the Hitachi OFW that is on there;

This is because Hitachi's are the only drive that require you to return to original before you update;

i recommend you use jungle flasher and just flash your drive with the new Ixtreme 1.6

The drive cant be flashed with Jungleflasher as its stuck in vendor mode and needs to be restored in doflash first, the drive is not reconized in Jungleflasher. This is the only way to restore a benq

If you've flashed it successfully, and then it's stuck in vendor mode, usually power cycling the drive will reset it! Unless you got it stuck somewhere else, I don't know...

The flash crashed at the first bank, so the drive has no firmware on it, thats why i need some stock firmware to inject my key and restore in dosflash!

You only need to restore it to stock if it were a Hitachi drive. So long as you have a valid drive key you can flash the drive with any Benq firmware.

So If I make an Ixtreme 1.6 with my Key and write it straight to the drive using dosflash 16 this will work?

I'm not 100% confident with dos flash, Jungle flasher is much more user friendly.

but i would say the answer is yes;
