Super Mario Galaxy:

1) I bought Resident Evil 4. I backed it the disc to a image file then to a DVD and it worked on my DCPro9 modded Wii. I also bought a Super Mario Galaxy recently. However, I have tried to do the same as RE 4. Repeated read is fine. However, when I use ImgBurn at 2x to write the image on a disc, it doesn't work. I have tried it many times and my Wii simply won't read it!? I looked at my original Super Mario Galaxy disc and there is NOT a scratch to it. It's NEW!! Why am I having so much problem with Super Mario Galaxy.

EA Sports Active Updates:

2) I am thinking about buying EA Active Sports. It requires an update from my current Ver 3.3U. Would updating the system using this game make the backed up disc not work? I don't do any of the fancy HomeBrew and othe exotic stuff at all. What version is this? Thanks.

There is no update that will block Modchips from working at this time.

Make sure your using good quality DVD-R media and burn with IMGBurn at 4X.

Did I say to burn it at 2X?

Burn at 4X or half the rated speed of the media.

Update your system to latest firmware which is 4.0 firmware.

Is there a preferred speed requirement in terms of reading the original game disk? Thanx

I really don't know about the whole use good media but i use whatever DVD-R is cheapest at the store. I burn using imgburn at 8x speed and i have never had a bad burn. I think the dvd drive can be the cause of bad burns not so much the media, atleast for me. I have both those games backed up and they work fine on both wii's with or without modchips. You probably should update to 4.0 though. Use same region updates for your wii.you should be fine if you update through nintendo. Also make sure to have the latest firmware for your chip flashed to it.

Ha, the exchange between jsailorca and larrylje made me laugh.
Funniest exchange I've seen on here in a while.
