I have just joined and have been reading and researching. But now i will just ask. (sorry if this has been addressed already).
I am about to flash my 360, i've read how to remove sticker, open 360, plug in sata to mobo, and am willing to boot using the 360 Modification USB 1.6 (xbins)to boot pc and flash drive to ixtreme 1.6
My question is I've read that you can backup games and play burned media on the modded system, but since the system is now modded can you either use the backup game media to load games off of the 360 hard drive or even a USB external HD? Is there a way to play/load games off an external hdd without the need for a disk?(since the system is modded)
IMHO if this release just allows you to rip games. Then i think we aren't getting anywhere considering this release just has a workaround for those who cannot obtain a KREON drive.
I am one of the lucky ones who waited for an overseas shipment of the kreon, so isn't this useless?(trying to evaluate schtrom360 or XBC) I am salivating for the day when we are able to rip games to an external disk and play them from the same, without ANY specific media particular to the game that i want to play required to be in the drive? There has to be a workaround..
What is the system looking for in the disk that it is checking can it be emulated?

that has nothing to do with iXtreme firmware... playing games from the HDD was part of microsofts last dashboard update.

that has never and probably will never be possible... when you flash the DVD drive the system is not modded... the dvd drive is modded... thats it... the xbox and all its security measures are still in place... the only thing changed is the dvd drive firmware.

perhaps we'd be further along if you started developing a competitor to iXtreme firmware...
