I've used the search function and found links to places that have installation services for xbox mod chips, but I've found their prices to be completely outrageous, some places going over $110. My friend got his xbox modded for only $40 and that was with both chip and hard drive installation (he supplied the hard drive and he bought the chip from the guy). Unfortunately, the guy that did it for him moved out east (I'm from California). Does anybody have any links or anything for xbox mod chip installation for a reasonable price? I've wanted for so long to get my xbox modded.

You could do it yourself. Its not really too difficult if you follow the instructions carefully. Also those prices you have seen, most of them probably included a chip.
