hi lads ,
what's the story with the starview box super lately ,
my chanels are gone again like last week or so ...
they kind of came back on their own then , they'll probably come back again later this time ...
does anyone know why this is happening ?
a bit anoying because it is the only box model afected by the problem , my starview 2 dowstairs doesn't have any problems at all ...
would be nice to know why ...
thanks
jer

i might look at getting another older model , starview 2 ,
never in trouble unless the codes ae changed ....

I have one in Dub and no problems with it. Except of course I'm missing all those premium channels and Hallmark, Eurosport and a few others.

Where are you? NThell had a problem in the Dublin/Wicklow area last week and all channels went from the afternoon for about 5 or six hours two days in a row.

I've never seen problems relating to a certain model of box(bar the N2 issue) and my dad has 5 different boxes in the house.
Ive seen some SV's having issues with holding the keys, so if your on an old firmware that moght be your problem or if your on the latest firmware goto "Sky Two"
PLEASE DONT PM ME FOR KEYS!

you will also have problems if you are using splitters as the signal is not strong enough to maintain channels take the splitter off or buy a booster

yeah ,
i might try to take the spliter off and go direct from the 1st boxe's output to the second boxe upstairs ...
might work better ,
just that it worked perfect until last week ....

the thing is , i'm getting all the free chanels perfect , picture and sound as good as it gets , so the signal must be ok , even if it would be better to get ride of the spliter anyway ....

Thats what I was referring to the Starview 3 The Box Super which is stated in the first post. Not the STarview 4 the box super usb which you've just mentioned which clearly now is what you have!

yeah , i had the same problem down in cork last week when all the channels went for 5 or 6 hours on my starview 3 usb, happened the same today , checked everything , seems ok ,
tryed the switching of procedure on the back of the boxe after doing a factory default , EMU ok .... doesn't work
what i mean is that my other boxe dowstair (starview 2) never went or gave trouble like that
neither today or last week ,
strange ...
the codes have been checked , no problems there

Far as I'm aware there is no such thing as a Starview 3 Box Super USB only a Starview 4 USB and as Ferg has said they have been dropping and regaining channels all over the place.

They're different. And they've been having problems.
It's mentioned on a few other threads here. What firmware do you have?

i would say you have the freeview channels thats all at the moment the starview4USB has a firmware problem and as such cannot decode the other channels that have not gone to N2 at the moment it needs a firmware update which is not going to come and if so will be to late as most will have been moved over to N2 anyway
