ok i currently have a older hitachi 59 wich is flashed with ixtreme 1.4 and all the new games are wave 3 games so i need to upgrade to 1.51.
I am not super good with flashing but am stumped about those executer connect kits u can buy to help with flashing your 360.
I was first planning on buying a sata via 6421 card for $30 canadian but am not sure if you can flash a hitachi 59 with just the card and jungle flasher???
So i rememberd those connectivity kits and seen one for $30 also but my question is "do u still need the 6421 via sata hooked up to your pc for the connectivity kit to even work??
If you dont need the sata card for it to work i might as well just get the kit instead , also can someone let me know if you can just use a via sata card to flash my xbox in case i decide to go the sata card route??
The sata card is just the chipset that is well known to work. Others work as well. The connectivity kit makes flashing easier, but not a must.
You can try it without either and see how it goes. And could you possibly wait for 1.6? It includes additional security support, but if you want to go ahead, 1.51 will be fine for now.
The connectivity kit doesn't interact with the sata at all, so no, you do not need the via card to use the connectivity kit.
Since your drive is already flashed, you can get it into mode b an easier way.
Go ahead and hook everything up(sata into hitachi)
Turn on xbox, eject disk tray, unplug xbox, plug back in, turn xbox back on.
Now to check if its in mode b, press eject, if it opens the first time, its not in mode b, if it takes two presses, it is in mode b.
Again, the sata chipset is well-known to work, but others work as well, so you can try it without buying the chipset first.
i tried hooking my 360 up to my pc with a sata cord and running slax to get my 360 in to mode b so jungleflasher would recognize my drive but it didnt recognize the drive but the bios listed the 360 drive but once i was booted into xp it didnt recognize it.
My pc is a pretty sweet gamer pc i built with a asus pk5-e motherboard but i am not sure if it is compatible?? is it??
try what i posted above about the easier method of getting it into mode b. And once in windows, try going to device manager and scan for hardware changes, thats what I had to do to get it detected.
And I don't think that chipset is compatible. it might be a good idea to go ahead with the via sata card. It is possible that your chipset is, but I don't want to say it is and you brick your drive.
Try newegg. I don't know if they ship to canada, but they are cheaper than $30

I have never heard of that little trick to get it in to mode b before and i did not think it was going to work but it did and i succesfully flashed my hitachi 47 to 1.51.
I know 1.6 ixtreme is still on its way for hitachi but no one knows when that will be done and people are speculating that it wont be here for a while and with 1.5 i can play wave 3 games ALA ufc and sacred 2 and i really want to play those games.
One last question is since 1.6 hitachi ixtreme is not out and maybe wont be for a long time is it still safe to play new wave 3 games on 1.51 not connected to live? "i wont even plug my internet in to the 360 until 1.6" (i know its never 100% lol)
Ok the research i did was that 1.6 has the 0800 thing where u can dump games and Strict stealth/wave checking and strict drive speed compliance 12x and last support for SS V2 , so my question is does any of those new features even matter when it comes to xbox live mod detection or does 1.6 have must have security measures?
There is no way of telling what will get you banned. Anything said on here is speculation. BUT, the safest way we know of right now is having 1.51 Iextreme, and verifying through ABGX. No guarantees if you will get banned or not, but I have had 1.51 and not been banned.
But again, they ban in waves so I might get banned in the future.
Anything you do is a risk. And even if you play with the internet unplugged, the xbox saves game information and sends it to MS when the internet is finally plugged in, so there is no guaranteed that works.
you should have a while before you get banned anyways. theres no reason for MS to have a wave soon, not until around thanksgiving at least. so pirate on man.
