Will this USB thing be able to flash lite-ons without using any device like ck3, probe, spear etc? It never mentioned anything like "you must not use this on LITE-ON drives and use a different method in order to successfully flash your drive"..... In fact it states that it (Supports Lite-On DG-16D2S)!
I have everything this thing needs like the VIA VT6421 PCI SATA (except for the ck3 or spear or whatever). Is this only for those XBOXes that is already flashed to custom FW and only needs updating (Like updating from ixtreme 1.5 to 1.6)?
I would be very grateful if someone will explain this fully 'coz i'm very confused about this read only lite-on thing..
That's exactly right. The modification USB method is for consoles that have been previously flashed with iXtreme firmware and only require an update (eg. 1.51>1.6).
Stock Lite-on drives require key extraction which make a spear or probe device necessary (unless you feel comfortable with soldering).
