So I was trying to fix my friend's 360 after he dropped it on the floor. It was giving me an "open tray" message, so I swapped the PCB from my Lite-On drive with his. However, I still got the same open tray error. I figured I'd just give up, but when I put the PCB back into my 360, I also got the open tray error!

I'm wondering if perhaps I damaged the ribbon cables when pulling them out (I didn't realize until it was too late that there are little clips that need to be released before taking the cables out). Is that the most likely cause for the problem, or what? Thanks!

Original issue was probably laser related. Make sure it's still secure, not damaged...

Your Xbox issue after PCB swap, not sure.
