Hi Guys,
I appologise if this has been asked, Ive been away for a couple of weeks and seems like ive missed loads..

I started my wii modding with a Wii 3.4 europe PAL and used the twighlight patch..
I then updated to wii system v4 and still have the homebrew and hard usb drive loader etc all running well.

I now see banner bomb and soft Mii and wonder if I now need to do the new tutorial here http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=113 that larrys tutorial points to or do I not need to do this because im already modded?

I read somewhere that the new way allows for backing up your Wii's software for safe keeping and a couple of other things like playing out of region games and dvd movies and less chance of bricking and if you do a way to reverse it with a back up of your NAND.

If there is a thread already with instructions for wii's modded before the new banner bom method can some one point me to it or advise me on the best course of action .

Thanks once again :-)

The purpose of that guide is to install cIOS (aka IOS249 aka as cIOS36 rev whatever). It has that IOS35 business because the previous way of installing cIOS using a custom IOS16 wadmanager is blocked in 4.0

Since you can use the launcher that tells me that you already have cIOS. You installed it while you were on 3.4.
Updating to 4.0 doesn't remove cIOS.

BaNNeRBoMB doesn't allow you to play out of region games and dvd movies. It is an exploit that allows you to run dols/elfs (such as for installing the homebrew channel) since the twilight hack which originally allowed you do this has been killed by Nintendo in 4.0

The backup launcher already allows you to play out of region games.
DVDx will allow you to play DVDs.
Bootmii allows you to back up your nand and restore it if you brick.

Yeah.

And the hackmii installer comes with bootmii, dvdx, and hbc 1.03
Just remember that not all Wiis can install bootmii as boot2. It can still be installed as an IOS but it doesn't offer the same protection as having it as boot2.

The older your Wii the better chance that you will be able to install it as boot2.

Thanks M8,

Can you point me to something more to read on hackmii installer..
I did see there was a newer Homebrew version so if this hackmii installer will do it all for me then perhaps its my better option if I have boot2?

Id like to know if I can do this boo2 or what I can do with my wii, its quite newish it came to us as a new virgin wii a few months ago new with FW 3.4 Pal, Im not entirly sure what boot1 or boot2 means so if you can point me to something to give me a better understanding Id appreciate it.

Im guessing its the software used to boot the wii?

Thanks again for your comments :-)

I'd start here http://bootmii.org/ and here http://hackmii.com/2009/02/bootmii-and-the-new-boot1/

The download section of bootmii.org is where you will find the hackmii installer.
