It might be the discs you are trying to play, maybe a bad burn or a bad rip.

I meant a bad laser, a user Here has the same problem. Heres a quote from the thread
Originally posted by leerage: Sounds to me like a bad laser. If he is able to boot a couple of games, it might be a laser issue. You might be able to adjust the strength with a POT calibration. If the drive is a Lite-ON, there has been issues with lasers getting burned out when the user is flashing the drive.

They probably got some other version of Iextreme. Try reburning the games but patch them to play wave 2. If they play, you know its the FW.

I would suggest have your box reflashed. Sounds as if you have 1.5 ixtreme update. 1.51 or 1.6 plays all wave 3 games.

Well its fine without the original key, they can dump the FW and get the key from it. But when they reflash it, take a thumb drive or a cd-r and insist they backup the key onto them. YOU take the key with you. That way you know you have it. And as for it being original, you can download the original firmware and put your key on it with just about any flashing program, and then you have the original key. But always make sure YOU have a copy of it, not just them.
