If you have ixtreme 1.5+ You have to get the drive in vendor mode by having the drive half open whe you power it on (It can be a pain in the a$$)
HERE Is the best guide to follow good luck and let me know if that worked..

im trying to flash a stock drive
didnt work either
it just says the same thing

yes its installed and working, as i have already flashed my hitachi, and i checked before i tryed to flash the benq

i cant find the SATA ports in the device manager, but it still recognizes my hitachi

6243 is a firmware revision of the BenQ drive. And I believe that is the way it shows up, rather than saying PBDS-VAD6038. Click Intro/Device ID and then power cycle when prompted. You should be able to read the flash chip.
