Hi, I am thinking about softmodding a wii for a friend. I am just wondering if the risks are big, I don't want to brick their wii. Also do I really update to 4.0? I just want to be absulutely sure before I do it.

Otherwise following the stickied tutorial, http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=113 seems pretty simple. Just wondering do most things work with it?

It is safe if you follow the directions. HERE is the stickied guide you can follow in this forum. Part of the guide uses the link you have above but the rest can be done in the linked guide I provided.
