Replacing BenQ Dvd Drive

My 360 drive is blown (Blew it up by accident over weekend).

I cannot find the original dvd drive keys that I ripped from the drive when I updated the firmware.

My old drive was a BenQ drive.

I can buy a new BenQ drive for $45.

I wanted to know will the new drive work in my 360 straight out, or do I need to inject the original key from my old drive into the new one.

If so, what can I do about that fact that I no longer have my original dvd keys.

Please advice what I can do.

You will need the original key so that they system and the drive can match up. If you don't have the original key, there really isn't anything you can do (that I know of...). You might just have to buy a new 360!
