Hello everyone,
I am a noob to the Wii mod scene...as in i just found out yesterday i didn't need the Zelda to get the home brew channel.i got excited and ran the new and improved softmod guide.i thought i could handle it after being successful at modding my ps2 and psp.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/773505

so i ran everything but the gamecube support and the usb loader support because i am not interested in GC games and i have no ext.HDD.

i now have the homebrew channel and wii gator backup launcher.
the next thing i did was gather a rar archive from an undisclosed location and extracted the iso from it.i then burned it onto a dvd+r with nero.when it was finished i loaded it into the Wii,launched backup loader and got error 324.

if anybody could help improve my Wii situation, your help will be greatly honored among me and my small tribe.

Thanks Everyone

Error 324 is usually do to a bad burn. Make sure you use quality media and for best results use DVD-R media.

Burn with IMGBurn at 4X or half the rated speed.

You also might want to go to the guide you used above and update to cIOS38_rev12 if you haven't done that yet.

thanks for the reply.

i did run the cIOS38_rev12 part of the tutorial...i stopped right at gamecube support.

i will try using imgburn like you said....i only have a stack dvd+r's right now...are they totally useless for this application...or is there something that can be done?if not... that's cool...i'll just get some -r's.i'm just excited and anxious to get this all going.

thanks again for your advice

If your DVD Burner supports booktyping you could try booktyping the DVD+R to DVD-ROM. The booktype settings can be found by clicking on the little book icon at the bottom right hand side of IMGBurn.

thanks again for what your doing,
okay so i tried changing the booktype...i know very little about it so i'm kinda winging it.i click the little book and i click the tab for an NEC.i'm pretty sure that is what my burner is because i can see it in the device line. i highlight Drive(for dvd+r media) then make the new setting dvd-rom,but i keep getting the same error message.parameter value invalid.

does this mean my dvd burner can't change booktype?

one more noob question...i think i read somewhere that the Wii can play divx movies...is this true...if so how?

Thanks Everyone
