Wii Win2k ICS lan help

I got an intec Wii USB-ethernet lan adapter and it works just fine when I plug it into the DSL modem, but what I'd really like to do is use ICS with win2k.

For whatever reason windows will not detect the wii ethernet cable when plugged in to the nic. It shows as "disconnected", so it won't let me share the connection with it.

Is there anyway to get win2k to recognize the wii's ethernet cable?
