Connect Liteon Drive to PC but JungleFlasher cant see it

Hi i am wanting to flash my liteon drive with ixtreme 1.6. i have got ck3 lite and a usb to serial converter for it as i dont have any serial ports. I am using a Dell XPS 420.

I go to the right tab and try to select what i want - i dont get any freezing but every option i choose it says No Device Found ! how do i go about fixing this?

Also i have tried Iprep but because i hav a usb to serial converter it wont let me do this method either i was wondering if there was a way around this to let me use my converter?

I dont have any cash atm so i would like to use what i got..

Thanks all for looking and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you install the USB driver from the CK3 site? You need that.

But i got the lite version which has the serial port on it, and i got a usb to serial converter, but do you think i still need it by doing it this way??

make sure where it says com1 you have it on com3.

I have the usb to serial adapter installed to com 7 and jungleflasher picks that up- i dont know what to do :S

THe scroll down list on the right says com7 and underneath it says usb to serial adapter so thats being picked up but the scroll list on the list selecting the drive always says no drive found.

So in device manager it shows your usb adapter as com 7? Then change it to com 7 in jungle flasher and it should show up. If not, then you either don't have the drivers properly installed or that adapter isn't compatible. Serial to USB doesn't always work. Not sure about the ck3, but my maximus pro has USB on it. Does the ck3 not have this?

CK3 Pro has the usb but i got the lite by accident really and got the converter as no serial port.

So your saying this is causing it not to show up in jungleflasher cause i have changed it to com 7 and it says it's ready but on the left hand side under choosing what drive you want it says no drive found.

Okay now I understand. If it says it's ready the serial port ck3 is working. You need to make sure the lite-on is in half way open mode and are you using the 6421 via card? Did you change the ports on the left side to make sure you are on the right port?

Im not using VIA 6421 - im using my onboard sata ports on my PC - and the bios is detecting it jus not when i open Jungleflasher

Well there's your problem. You need to get the 6421 card. Doesn't matter if it shows up in the bios if it's not compatible with JF. They are $15.00 and you won' t be able to flash without it. Some people have had luck if their onboard is a via chipset. Do yourself the favor and save more headaches and get the card. I promise it will work on your first try.
