i have a US wii with wiikey.v1, 4.0 firmware, HBC, CIOS v10.
when i insert my back-up MADWORLD disc, the screen pops up a warning message like error disk or something like that...
so do i just burn a new copy or do i need to install a new CIOS or patch or something?
thanks in advance!

Wow, modchip, 4.0, and cIOS. It should definitely be working. Yeah I think you should burn it again.
Quality DVD-R media, at 4x, using ImgBurn

You can if you want to but you shouldn't have to worry about it if it's the same region as your console.
It's a more recent game but it looks like it has 3.1 on it.

tried burning a new back-up copy of the game without wiibrickblocking...at first the title appeared on the wii channel but when i selected it the screen went black...so i then ejected the disk and tried inserting it again, this time the game title did not appear on the wii channel but displayed a disk error....
anymore ideas on how to play this game?

Sounds lika a bad burn/.iso to me. You provided no details on how/what you are using to burn.

What kind of media and have you made successful burns before. I am running a backup with no problems on Wiikey modded Wii.

i've been using memorex ever since and this is the 1st time that i have been having this persistent problem...
do i need to erase the "#002 error" that i have been reading about?
Or do i need to install IOS 38, 53, and 55?

I'm not sure what you mean by "erase" the 002 error.
If you have 4.0 then you already have those IOSes.
I still think it's a disc problem.
And Memorex has so many manufacturers you can't really tell what you're getting.
Two stacks of Memorex may be made by two different companies.
Memorex's Manufacturers: CMC, Ritek, Moser Baer, Mitsubishi, Prodisc, Ricoh, Infodisc

I have not had any success with Memorex.
Call me a snob, but I only use TY and Verbatim for my Wii backups.

I use Verbetim DVD-R dvd's burned with imgburn at 8x speed, all disk copies have worked 100%.
I have also encountered the same problem in the past with the 'error 002' by using good DVD media and somtimes changing the TV settings from 60hz to 50hz visa versa has fixed the blackscreen problem when loading a backup game.
Good luck
