I was lucky to get in, but I only got to be in the crowd to participate! It was kind of funny cause people thought they won big prizes, and would stop at a certain point, even when the announcer at the beginning said that there are no prizes during the beta! I think if they do this every week, it would be really fun. Some of the people on there though are completely oblivious to some of the questions...

well my brother got in but i didn't because i was waiting on a friend. They need to have more than one game server if they cant host all of us. I mean, they have been hype-ing this up for over a year now, and of course MS drops the ball on the very first game launch, and cant hold everyone. lame... but i guess I shouldn't have been superised.

Yeah it was pretty packed last night. Luckily I got in as the crowd. I got my family together to help me with the questions since I'm horrible with trivia lol. Got a top score of around 40k I believe...
We had an awesome time. What sucked though is that if your finger slips and hits the wrong button on the controller then you cannot change your mind. There was this question that asked what was another term for a portable USB flash drive and I accidentally chose pinkie drive instead of thumb drive...I literally facepalm'd there lol.
Some of the questions were a little risque though. One asked what Sasha Grey did before she was in a TV show. Well if any of you watch porn Sasha Grey is pretty popular in the business. So I knew the answer but since my family was there I was hesitant. I was like "Umm I dunno....let me guess" lol.
But overall it was a fun experience and I will attend each game. Even though it's in Beta now and no prizes are being given out that does not stop the fun. Once it gets out of Beta though that's when the real games begin.

dude its a BETA do you know what that means. it isnt going to be fully fleshed out over the top during a beta. The whole point of a beta is to have real world testing. it isnt suprising at all to see full games and such as im sure they havent rolled out all their servers and the whole shebang yet.
If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.

i do know what beta means, as i am a beta tester for the Quake id franchise. no need to question my intelligence. And beta means, that they are getting ready to launch their service, so they want to see what it is capable of / how much their servers can handle / what people think. and I think that they should of had more than one game lobby, as they have been promoting this for over a year as stated, and they should've known a crap load of people were going to want to play. They did not tell you that you had to download anything, i found out by luck, they metioned nothing of a server cap, and the reminder i set did not work. So therefor, with MS being the company that they are, (billionaires) I would say that it is safe to assume, they had no clue what they were getting themselves into, and they dropped the ball. I would also say, that it was not an accident that they made, I am sure there will be a server cap on every game, even after the beta, so therefore i stand behind my opinion. LAME.

things like this happen in Betas and it shouldnt be a surprise. I have been a beta tester for MS for like 7 years. i was beta testing vista from the beginning and many other things as well. Betas are known to be limited and not bug free so things happen. And MS didnt have to do a public beta at all so we are actually lucky to have access to this in the first place.

yea, they could just rip us off for 60$ like the rest of the marketplace. wonder how much natal will be? 200-300$ would be my guess.

well to me im just saying complaining about a beta is like complaining about a demo. cause thats pretty much what this is, a demo to build some hype and peak interest. and yea natal could be high priced but i heard they are going to include it with new consoles so i dunno how that will go. im sure either prices would need to go up or they are going to drop the price on the regular bundles and keep the same price with the bundle with the natal device. who knows. and sorry if i made it seem like i was questioning your intelligence earlier, didnt mean to come off that way.

Microsoft trying to develop 300,000 player online game
>> From developmag.com:
Microsoft is trying to make history with a new 360 title, it seems - by developing a system that allows for 300,000 players simultaneously.
A job posting released by the firm has called for "an experienced server developer to help develop our server architecture. We are building an extremely high performance system to extend console games to the server in new ways; creating a completely new set of web services to support dynamic programming information of games and scheduling data".
Requirements for the role include "building a backend capable of hosting a 300,000 player game in real-time with real money on the line (anti-cheating, etc)" the post ing says.
maybe this is related ?
