Microsoft E3 summary: New motion control system and Metal Gear Rising

article published on 2 June, 2009

Microsoft had a pretty big day today at the E3 Expo, unveiling an entirely new control system for its Xbox 360 console among other notable announcements. Dubbed Natal, the system is a fully hands-free control system which uses facial recognition and multiple motion sensors to allow users to playback games using their body motions and not buttons. The system is still in early stages, ... [ read the full article ]

Hope OmriSama decides to clean up the mess :)

From my view i think the new MGS will take place after MGS4.

Raiden would be a candidate to play and because now he has

*********************SPOILER***************************

A son with Rose, it could dawn a brand new take on MGS

Maybe even a rename after could be "Metal Gear Raiden"

Snake better come back! even if he is 400years old and a deaf, Blind, Paraplegic and liquid snake is resurrected into some bionic creature

Ayame, i live for you xxx even though the sight may fade the feelings shall always remain

Ayame, i owe you my life but thats all i have to give to you as you already have my love and my heart

forever yours Joe xxxxx

I guess were all right on this one

Quote:

The MSX2 version was initially released only in Japan and the Netherlands. A heavily altered port for the Japanese Family Computer and its western counterpart, the Nintendo Entertainment System, was released months afterwards. The original MSX2 version would be ported to mobile phones in Japan in 2004, followed by its inclusion in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PlayStation 2 in 2006, which led to a more mainstream English localization of the original MSX2 version in North America and Europe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_gear

So whatever minor detail i guess. So if we REALLY want to get technical Sony actually was a manufacturer of MSX systems back in the 80's.

So this "METAL GEAR RISING" is also on PS3,no?
Or is it (don't tell me this is true) an xbox exclusive! ???
=O
lol
Oooh something feels wrong here, its like Halo suddenly jumping over to PS3 ... the natural order of things are a changing. That cant be good!
(we'll wait and see i guess)

Besides i thought they wouldn't be able to fit an MGS game (with a vast size) onto a DVD 9 ?? so erm.. Multi-Discs??

Multiplat.

1.5 hours and we're getting Sony conference. I'm expecting a PS3-exclusive MGS game where Snake will be the protagonist. If MGS:R is the official MGS5, I'll be highly disappointed in Sony for not keeping it an exclusive.

I thought that there were re-makes for the Xbox and Gamecube. Doesn't that count because this MGS will be for both PS3 and 360.

Motion sensing with a 360 would be cool cause obviously it has better graphics then the Wii but I really don't like how there's no controller at all... I mean if the Wii made people look stupid this would probably be even worse lol

MGS:R from what I've heard is supposed to be like a prequil to MGS4 or just kinda MGS4 in Raiden's point of view, what he did while Snake was doing that, etc. I highly doubt that will be as great as MGS4 though, and that's what many people want on their 360s, MGS4. Now their trying to take MGS into a new direction...

Motion Sensing is cool for certain games, like Zelda and kiddie games. But for hardcore games, we gamers would prefer a physical joystick.

Thing is Metal Gear Solid 4 was used on a BluRay Disc, and they used every single bit of space on that 50GB BluRay Disc... XBox 360 uses a HDDVD which can only hold up to 30GB if dual layered.

So I am going to assume that this game will either be short... or the graphics arent going to be like MGS4.

Don't get me wrong I love the Metal Gear Franchise. Just think they should have stuck with PS3, there i said it.

Doesn't the 360 only read DVD-9? I thought you needed a HD DVD add-on, and it only played movies, not games.

Perhaps the 360 version will be multi disc?

Sorry I had to lol :P

Even within MGS4 they make a joke saying you have to switch the disc and then its like "Oh yea the PS3 has Blu-Ray!" Now their makin' Xbox games anyways :/

I don't mind having a multi-disc game like Blue Dragon instead of one 30gb plus disc game. No big deal to me.

ROFL....
I doubt they would market it like that anyway. They would probably make double sided DVD-9's, halving the total number of discs to 10, then ship 2 per case, halving that to 5 cases.

lol

I highly doubt this is going to be MGS5 or equivalent, plus with the disc space issue, its going to be tight, but Kojima must have a way or getting the utmost quality on a console that WILL need to OC'd to play.

Maybe software overclock possibly much like Crisis core for the PSP.

Also maybe it will be mandatory to install to the HDD, Would suck if you havent updated to the new dash XD

Kojima will prevail through these many problems and bring out a kick-ass game

It's amusing that nobody mentions the motion control system coming from Microsoft. Sort of reminds me of the Wii Sensor Bar.
