K So I got the RROD, fixed it cleaned it ect. 4 months later get the same thing after my xbox freezes. I take out the xclamps and use screws and washers. Now my xbox runs for 20 mins.. and freezes. When I restart it wont even read my games. I put in a real game and nothing. Put in a copied game after the real game and it will read for a few mins.
Then I cleaned the dvdrom and used the buffer fix near the laser. Worked for 20 mins then froze again. Any solutions?
PLEASE HELP

i dont know why people think they can permanently fix the rrod. it make work for a minute, an hour, maybe even a year but it will not last forever. best thing you can do now is keep tweaking the bolts. the ultimate x clamp fix looks good too, you might try that. also, i personally run my xbox in the dasboard for 5-10 minutes after gaming so it can cool down a bit before completely shutting it off.

The tightening of screws is the MOST IMPORTANT PART!!!!!!!!! has to be tighten all together-at once. half turn by half turn. They must all be same tightness and level.

k so I tweaked the bolts and it plays again. The drive will play real games but now wont play backedup games.. So im guessing the laser is failing or I need to re flash the xbox. Any clues? Gonna try to buy some verbatims and see if those work. Been using memorex
