i keep getting a mixed media disc, and open tray error with this game, but the nfo. said it was region free... any thoughts? running 1.51 fw

im still waiting for it to get in the abgx database, but when it does i'll post back any issues.im still on 1.51 also.

mine was spare, but i read the .dvd file wasnt named the same as the rar files so you need to change it. i did, it passed abgx, and its fine. not sure if this helps or not.

yea i seen that too, something about it having to be renamed. oh well, i deleted it already, so i will just wait until thaty perfect version comes out.

abgx makes the spare release perfect. renaming the .dvd file is not a big issue at all and the dmi issue is fixed on level 3. Thanx guys for ABGX360

abgx360 renames .DVD files for you if they're wrong (it'll also edit the contents of the file if that's wrong too), and if no .DVD file exists, it'll create one.

i know but i was assuming he didnt run it through abgx because it wasnt in the database at the time of his 1st post.

i have never used abgx360. never needed to. my source is 9/10 times very secure and reliable.

If you've never used abgx360 then you can't possibly know that your source is reliable 90% of the time can you? Not using it is just silly, considering it takes a couple of minutes max to scan an ISO and considering the relatively high number of scene release that need to be autofixed.

i use newsgroups not torrents, and my hosting server already has people discussing if the game works or not 2-3 hours after it is released. The only reason I had a problem with this one, is because i didn't read the notes, just the .nfo.

I think you're missing the point. I also use newsgroups via Giganews, but many scene releases need autofixing with abgx360, not because they won't work if you don't fix them, it's because the stealth files don't check out properly. I guess you're not bothered about getting hit with the banner hammer, but I am.

like i said, never used it, been running this box modded ,for well over a year now, and i play everything before it is released. when the last wave hit, i played fallout 3 and several others at that time early. And as I said, i do not go through and read the news groups, I have a directory hosting server that sorts the files for me, and just about everybody and their brother uses agbx360 on there, so i just read what they say. saves me a couple minutes. so i still don't have a need for it. out of probablly 100 games this is my one coaster within the past 12 months.

So how do you fix the ISOs when they say that a game needs fixing? Recent examples of games that needed fixing are X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Red Faction Guerilla (the very game this thread is about). You probably just burned those and played them based on a "works on my pal machine running ixtreme 1.6" comment on some Usenet site, Newzbin perhaps?. It'll be your loss when you get banned just because you're too impatient to spend 2 minutes checking an ISO, and it seems you don't even really understand what abgx360 does.

like i said, I have never been banned, and I have two consoles sitting in the basement waiting for deployment. Not saying what you do is wrong, just saying what I do is my prefered method, and this is the only accident I have had to date. and yes its newzbin, which i am assuming you know about, which there is also alot more than one comment on a new release if you are familer with them. so based on the 20 or so comments, i make my decision to burn or not to burn.

So, you're saying that if any red flag is raised in the groups you refrain from using the release even if you have the option to fix it yourself in a couple of minutes (much less time than it takes to download a"perfect" copy, let alone wait for one)? It's an interesting tactic, but by no means a method. You're still at risk for being so lazy (hey I'll give you that downloading from groups isn't as easy as it sounds but this is ridiculous lol).The time it takes you to read the comments, it takes you to scan the ISO through ABGX. Heck, you can do both at the same time! lol
