You might want to consider using a friends psp to create your own. Use your default battery as the pandora and order a fancy hi-output for yourself.

Got one from DealXtreme for 6 bucks. It took a while to arrive(2 wks) but it did arrive and worked fine, also it was the cheapest on the net, some uk sites were looking for 20 euro for the same item.

If you are using a fat battery, and you want reliability, buy a spare fat battery and crack open the one you have now. Hardmodding the battery works if you know how to do it. It is pretty simple.

If you want to save money, then just hardmod your current battery. When you are done, search for a bootloader that puts battery files on your memory stick. Then your hardmodded pandora will work like a normal battery. All you will lose is the ability to put your PSP in standby mode.

I got mine from Dealextreme, but of course it takes a few weeks to ship from Japan. Mine only costed $6.70, but it only worked once, now I can't seem to get it to boot any psp into Dev mode. So I just used my hacked psp to turn one of my spare batteries into a Pandora, I turn it back whenever I need to use it.
