I'm wondering if any body can help me, i've searched many forums and tried everything, nothing is working.

I soft modded my wii 4.0e, all the games work perfectly including need for speed undercover but when I put in pes 2009 (pal) it loads then after the first two screens it just goes to a black screen and nothing happens.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

Which cIOS revision do you have?

Are you trying one of the many USB loaders?
or one of the many Backup loaders?

Give rev13b a try.

Also try NeoGamma
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=5914

PES2009 is listed in the compatibility list as working.

It might seem strange but cIOS has been having a lot of issues lately. Try Rev8.
And remember no uninstalling. Just install over.

You can go back to 13b or whatever you want afterward.

btw if you know what is the latest firmware? because i thought i had it I have 4.0e but on the disc channel it says 'wii system update'

4.0 is the latest.

And you made sure that it was 8 right?
Because in the link I gave you 9 is at the top of the page and 8 is almost at the bottom.

If you have 4.0 then you have those IOSes that you mentioned.

If you have a PAL console, and this is a PAL disc then it's safe to do the update.

I thought you have 4.0 though.

According to here http://wum.talevas.com/?page=dev&viewiso=all
PES2009 has 3.1 so it likely won't change the firmware version that you are on.

What does it say in the top right when you go to the System Settings?

It says 'Ver. 4.0E'

and my wii is PAL and the disc is

so you think i should try it?

I think you should be alright.
I was on 3.3 when MadWorld came out and it asked for a Update and I did it and after the update I was still on 3.3.

I thought to myself. Hey this "update" didn't even do anything.
Apparently some games install IOSes (though you should already have these if you on 4.0)
And some games are just obsessively compelled to update you even if you tell them they have 4.0 it just wants to see for itself.

So it never asked you for this update when you were trying to play it before?

well I never realised it nothing stood out on the wii menu, I only realised after I installed the rev 8 then i put it in a different disc the system update went away, put pes back in and it came back..

If your saying its safe and went well with you then thats good enough for me
I'm going to try the update now to see if it works

Hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe someone else can help you.

Keep researching and I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Also if you decide to use the USB loader, USB loader support started i Rev9 (just in case you forget to re-update.)
