Ok...I'm not new to flashing systems I've done over 20 of them. I've got a brand new Red Xbox 360, one of the ones that came out in March.
I flashed it to iextreme 1.51 no problems the day I got it.
Today I went to flash to 1.6, and when I did the "Lite On Erase" commad, my computer froze. (No I'm not using VIA drivers) I rebooted my computer and found that the drive could not be detected...okay no problem. I used dosflash to erase the drive and get it working again, and recognized by windows.
I then used Jungle Flasher to update the drive to 1.6 using all the key.bin etc files that I already had from the original dump. Jungle Flasher says everything is okay as usual, and everything verifies. I hook it all back up, and low and behold I have the 3 red rings. I did not have the 3 red rings an hour ago.
Here is what is weird, the fan never comes on, nothing ever comes on the screen, just goes straight to RROD. Is it possible for a flash to cause the RROD? Is it possible that the Lite On Erase Command messed up the drive and is causing the RROD? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
are you sure this is a brand new unit alot of people swap thier dead 360's with new ones they switch the cases and return it to the store when you took the case off did it have the new heatsinks? did all of the serial number match up correctly thier should be one by the usb port one underneath the aluminum frame and one on the board itself they should all match the ones on the case. only thing i can think of is that its been swapped with a dying machine do u know what error code u are getting?
and there is no error code it doesn't do anything there is no video being outputted and the fan doesn't even kick on just push the power button and INTERMEDIATELY get the rrod
yes you get the error code by turning on the console hold the sync button and hit the ejuct button you will then get sections of the ring of light that flash each flash has a code for example if the whole ring flashes then the first number of that code is zero thier should be four digits
dont really know what to tell you sometimes doing an xclamp will fix this issue but since its a new residiant evil 5 edition why not send it back to MS to fix?
they wont even check that as long as the sticker on the front is perfect and there are no visible marks op tampering on the back of the box they will send you a new unit asap by the time they repair that one you will already have your new one MS doesnt check for modded firmware they only check for damaged seals and tampering
