I have seen a lot of threads here and other places about modding the normal units to allow for playing backed up games, but is there a guide specific to the Elite?? Also...if there is not..is there one specific tutorial that one would reccomend? All the information is quite daunting.

I just wish to play backed up games/burned, and do not care about cosmetic modification.

Elites are just like any other console. Use the Jungle Flasher tutorial. It is linked in my signature. You will need to determine what DVD drive is in your XBOX 360. Take the face plate off of the 360. On the DVD bezel where it says XBOX 360, you should see a small hole beneath it. Shine a flash light inside and you will see 2 wires.

Yellow wires = Lite-ON drive
White wires = BenQ drive
Red and Black wires = Samsung drive
Plastic hole = Hitachi drive

I am a little confused as to the "prerequisites" .. a list of tools and an overview of why we need them would be helpful(like software, cables, anything else we need)
