hi. I managed to flash my 360 back about a year ago and about 5 months ago i had to open it a second time to fix the red light error. I now see that it wont play the 3rd wave games and i have not had the best of luck with patching them down. I think the best way is to just upgrade to 1.6 iextreme. I was just wondering is there a faster way or a simplier way of flashing? i was something on thumb drives and makin a cd, now do you still have to plug in your sata cable to the drive and all that again or is there a faster way? if opening the 360 and upgradin the firmware the old fashion way is the only way, is there a link with a easy to follow guide with pics? Thats what i used back in the day, but i cant find that link anymore. I just sorta figured in how far the tehnology has come with it all, that there would be a much faster way. I dont go on live at all, never have and dont plan on it. THanks, joe

You must open the XBOX 360 and connect it to your computer via S-ATA to flash the drive. No other way going about it.

What drive is it that you have, there are many different ways to flash different drives, also if its an hitachi do you have your original firmware?
