I've followed the SoftMod guide for my 4.0 updated console, and I get to the USB Loader, and since I don't have any USB plugged into the console, I can't get any screens to let me proceed, or work with the iso's.
did i miss something that i needed to do to get it to work?
even when i plug in a usb (both spots), it tends to freeze, or not load anything.
If so and your using USB Loader GX go to your SD Card and see if there is a config folder on it. If there is delete it then try booting the USB Loader GX again.

Not clear to me " can't get any screen" ...
how do you launch your loader, is is by channel forwarder or through HBC? if channel might be wrong path. Try it using Homebrew channel and look for USB loader GX?
I am having the same issue. The drive is formatted properly and everything but when I load the USB Loader GX on a channel window the Wii automatically exits back to the home screen even when the hard drive is connected.
There is no SD card inserted in the Wii and I installed the forwarder. Any help is appreciated.
So I need to have the USB loader GX in the apps folder on the SD card right? Then I can just boot form the channel right on the Wii without going into HBC?
