I have spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to flash my 46/47 hitachi drive using Blaster NE and Jungle Flasher. I have looked at the jungle flasher tutorial, the trouble shooting guide and all over the internet and tried it on Windows XP, vista and 7 all to no avail. Here's what I have, any help would be appreciated.
I manually installed Port I/O on all systems
Set the the blaster to the appropriate settings (mode B, etc)
I have a sata/usb connection from blaster to computer and all systems recongnize the drive and assign it a letter.
Open jungle flasher, go to hitachi tab, click refresh, JF finds the hitachi drive but JF does not detect the drive in any of the I/O ports. Not sure if this is the root cause of the problems...
Since Blaster is already set to mode B so not worried about that in JF. (should I be?)
I try to restore the drive (firmware is in appropriate JF directory) and and I get error message saying something to the effect that dump failed etc.
I've wasted far to much time on this and have no idea what else to do so any input/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
If using a connectivity kit and enabling mode b on it, JF may run into problems and it gives you a warning about that. It tells you not to enable it. I'd imaging the Blaster would give the same problems. A warning about the Blaster may have just been overlooked by the JF team.
