Hello. My bro tried flashing a Sammy but my guess is he failed miserably cuz he gets an E65 error which to me is he killed the drive. My question is can he spoof a spare drive he has to replace the sammy even though he has no drive key or is the whole thing dead. My other question is I flashed my buddys Hitachi a few months back and a few days ago had to get his Mobo replace.The games wont play and in my opinion its cuz the drive and mobo dont match, is there a way to fix it or is it time to buy another one?

Same answer applies to both of your problems. You MUST have the DVD drive key! With out that, you XBOX 360 is a paper weight. You can take any key and spoof it to any drive. You can't just swap out a drive, the DVD drive must have the key that goes with the motherboard it was originally married to.

I think drive is dead. If no drive key, it just wouldn't play anything.

Thats what I thought but I wanted to confirm first. My bro told me he was able to read the original firmware and save it, does that matter for anything or is it still a lost case.

if he has the original FW, and its not FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF or 77777777777777777 then hes fine. you can either reflash it back to stock and try again, or continue where hes at, and make the hacked FW with jungleflasher and flash it to the drive and it will work just fine.

however, if it is the 77777777 or FFFFF then hes screwed, unless he used iprep and the backup dumps of the FW are legit ones.
