I know I get a 3 month warranty, but does this now mean my RROD warranty ends in 2012? How does this work?

I would presume so. 3 year warranty from the manufacture date.

New XBOX 360s are not RRoD free. So I don't know why MS would only cover old consoles and not new ones. I would be mad to find out my nice new Jasper console doesn't have a 3 year RRoD/E74 warranty.

I'm sending another one in monday. The guy on the phone was a moron and told me I can't buy a second hand xbox and keep the warranty. Of course I convinced him otherwise since I've done it a 100 times. My question here is, from what date though? The date changes when you send it in. I sent a 2006 box in and got a 2009 in return. My 3 years was just about up. Now do I have 3 more years since this is a 2009 box?

It's 3 year warranty from the purchase date, not manufacture date. So, even though the label states it an '09 console, it's still only replacing the previous console. So it still falls under the warranty of the previous console.

um not too sure about that how would they know the purchase date they never asked me for a reciept when i sent mine in i think ur pretty much covered to 2012

because when you buy the console in the store, they scan the serial number and that reports back to MS stating that console with SN 123456789123 was bought on such and such date, thats how they know when its bought.

They know the manufacture date from the serial number, so they could probably tell from that that you purchased the console less than 3 years before it died. The warranty is definitely from the purchase date though.

This depends though. I got a box back that was purchased 3/6/2006 which would be expired. I argued that the sticker said 7/20/2006 on it, and he had me on hold for 20 minutes, came back and said I was covered. The repair status changed to $0.00 from $100.00. Maybe I got lucky...
