Which cable box for a newcomer Eurovox/Kryptview/Starview?

Hi all.
im a newcomer to the cable field and am seeking advice on which box to buy. I obviuosly would like to view as many channels as poss' but have heard the encryption is evolving all the time so will need one that is cabable of handling the newest encryption types. I beleive I will also have to get a nul modem cable to apply any updates I may have??
Any advice or links will be greatly appreciated.

Currently recommended box is the Kryptview, but these are sold out everywhere at the moment.

Depending on where you are located, one of the other boxes might do, but the other box manufacturers have been a bit slow with updates to sort tne N2 problem in Ireland.

That was quick. Would they be on ebay when thay are back in stock?
I have read somewhere about mac-address translation or something.
Do I have to try and cloak my mac-address or something to avoid attention? :-D. or is it soimply a matter of getting the box and then finding a patch for it?
