Choices: DVD Backup Loader, or USB Loader

do i have to burn them to a cd

CDs won't work. DVDs will. Or just get a HD and put the ISOs there.

can i use any type of hard drive for the usb loader?

Some HD may not be compatible. The portable ones (2.5") from either Seagate or WD will generally work.

how do i play them from a hard drive

Use a USB Loader

can i still have movies/music on this hard drive after i creat the wbfs or whatever partition

You would have to have two separate partitions (FAT and WBFS). The WBFS is used solely for games.

will i still be able to use this hard drive on windows

The FAT partition you can use normally; the WBFS partition, you would have to use a WBFS Manager to manipulate the games (add/delete/rename)

Use ImgBurn, it's free. Burn it at speed of 4X or less to improve chance of success. Some media are better than others; do some searches. I personally use Sony with good results.

You need a USB hard drive.

324 error is usually due to cheap media or a bad burn.

It can also be caused by no cIOS installed.

You followed all steps and everything installed properly?

If no then follow all the steps.

If yes then try different media. Burn with IMGBurn at 4x or half the rated write speed (DVD-R Verbatim or Tayio Yuden media is recommended the most).
