Cheaper DL media + Installed games on hard drive?

Does the media even matter if I will always be playing the games from my hard drive? I just thought about this and realized that I always buy verbatim dl printables which are probably the most expensive DL media out, but then play from the hard drive. Couldnt I use any media if I am just going to rip them and play off the hard drive?

you could use any brand but cheaper media is probably going to give you a lot more coasters then reliable media, it also depends on whether your 360 will read the cheap media,you should buy a small pack of junky media like memorex then test it out, and if they work and your only going to be playing games from your hard drive then you shouldn't have any problems with your laser dying out or anything. that's one of the main reasons people use better media for backups because cheaper media is more likely to wear out or kill your laser.
