I might have just bricked my wii

I got punch out and it had a system update on it. I didn't want to ruin my wii as it is chipped and i thouht something ad would happen so i looked up threads on this very subject.

In multiple places it said if your system is chipped just update by wifi and everything will be great. So i did. Now whenever i load any backed up disc it says "an error has occured" and i have to shut down. When i reboot up with the disc in the drive it says the system files are corrupt.

When there is no disc in the drive everything is fine.

What do i do? or have i killed my wii?

I know there are semi brick discs out there i am looking for one now.

OK it runs my normal non backed-up games just fne. is there any way for me to get it back working the way it was possibly through installing homebrew channel? I really need help on this.

use the 4.0 semibrick fix method available if you search on google, then system reformat , reinstall homebrew channel via smash bros brawl hack, then patch your game then play. overall brief explaination. Lots of work if you dont know what you are doing.

Why don't you start by telling us what chip you have and what FW your Wii was on before you updatesd. That would be helpful for trouble shooting purposes. It may be something as simple as updating modchip FW. ---Chikn
