how do update the firmwere of dvd coz I wend to device manger and tried to update dvd driver and it says it already up to date . I have got Phillip dvd its in my pc ,it called Dell deimention 5000 it was in it when I bought ,but it works perfectly when I burn the 2.4x dvd but it does not burn 8x dvd.
If you guys know where to update the phillip dvd firmwere please let me know. Thanks.
The mistake you made is using a torrent to get the game instead of making the iso yourself, these forums if you bothered to look is full of problems getting the torrent iso's to work

That's why I said to update the firmware, because the 8X discs use a different dye to the 2.4X rated ones, so your drive might not have write strategies that support the newer discs properly. Updating the firmware can fix that, but if your drive is old and hasn't been updated in a long time, you might need to get a new one if you want to keep using the 8X discs.
Dell have used 2 different types of Philips drive in the Dimension 5000. Here's the latest firmware for the Philips DVD8601: -
Both of those firmwares are 4 years old though, so chances are it's not going to make a difference, but there's no harm in trying. Just make sure you download the correct one for your drive. If a firmware update doesn't work, just get a new drive as they're dirt cheap now, or stick with the 2.4X discs although they seem to have been discontinued.
