Well i been in the 360 scene for awhile then moved on to ps3 but now im in the mood to do a little modding

I have a brand new xbox 360 arcade(built in 256mb no mu) so i have already taken the xbox apart and purchased a dual layer drive for my pc and blank dl disc.

So pretty much my question is whats next from here

oh yeah, I was also going to ask, does anyone know if Microsoft mixes parts for their drives? because when I got my 360 back after rrod I opened the tray and there was a Hitachi tray but when i opened the system to flash, it was a lite-on drive. I was super surprised as I had never heard of this happening before.

That can be misleading. BenQ and Lite-ON trays look exactly the same. Look on the front of the drive in the right hand corner. There is a small hole. Shine a flash light in there and there will be 2 wires.

Yellow = Lite-ON
White = BenQ

You will need some additional hardware to do it. I recommend a connectivity kit that comes with a probe. Reason being you don't have to use your 360 to power the drive. I have a CK3 Lite with a probe. There is also the Xtractor Pro with spear.

The Lite-ON firmware can't be dumped so you will need a probe to read the key, then you spoof that info to ix1.6 for Lite-ON and flash.

Visit http://www.jungleflasher.net or the tutorial linked in my signature. You will also need a compatible SATA chipset. Your onboard SATA might work, if not, you will need the VIA SATA card with the 6421 chipset.
