Removing duplicates on a Korean Wii changes to U?

I bought a Korean Wii that was changed into U and I upgraded it to 4.0U. Now I have two weather channels and two news channels and I was wonder if the US duplicate remover works or would brick my Wii? There was a kind gentleman that helped me through my other topic but he isn't really experienced with this. Much thanks for anyone with input on the issue.
