what should i download? I know i need MPlayer but which one works with 4.0?

im trying to do the same thing.

so i need to install dvdx?
Is dvdx an invisible wad?

Then i install MPlayer CE v0.62 into the apps folder in my SD card?
DO i use Mplayer from my sd card to read my dvd disks?

You have to have dvdx installed to play dvds in any form other than wii games. Yes install it in the apps folder you can play media from anywhere you want SD, DVD, USB even SMB (streaming over a network)

Thanks for the help. I got it up and working. yes i have my wii modded with homebrew, backup loader, usb loader, dvdx is installed with Mplayer CE v0.62. ya know watching some youtube videos can be misleading because they are out of date for what im trying to do. I always try and find the answer myself before i get on here and bug people to help me.
