It might be the type of media that you're using. Switch to Verbatim.

i used verbatim and if it's a laser issue wouldn't it prevent the other games from working? because all my other ones work fine

It could be the laser. Some games are easier for your laser to read than others. My older 360 had trouble with GTA IV. My new 360 doesn't have any problems, I can even use cheaper media.
Another idea, is you might want check your hard drive. Some games access the hdd more than other. And if your hdd is going bad, it could cause issues for certain games.

Black screen and freezing sounds like an E74 or RROD is around the corner.

id try a reburn on better media for some reason some xboxes "take" to a particular media might just be me but burn it on verbatim its worth it, ive used cheap dual layer media and id sometimes get stuck on the start menu could be media or a bad burn bad game image/iso too , but other times it may just be the laser especially if you play alot, im thinking in your case might be the laser, how old is the system?

it one of the 1st issues of the hdmi, so it's almost 2 years old. im tweaking the laser now and after the first test i was able to play a whole 45 seconds!!! well i suppose it's better then getting stuck on the cinematic.

Try this; remove your hard drive and play that game again. Let me know the results.

buy a new drive BenQ VAD same model or different if you want on ebay their only $27 make sure you have the key for your original BenQ then just flash your new replacement onto your xbox 360 and it should work fine again as long as its not your xbox 360 thats freezing then you have a bigger problem, also does it just freeze on that game or plays all others? if only on that backup then may just be a bad image rip especially if you downloaded it online.

oh to clarify you need the dvd of your broken benq drivethen you need to put/flash that key onto the new benq drive in order for it to work with your xbox 360. If you dont have the dvd key saved then you have to extract it then spoof it onto your new drive. or you could just buy the replacement laser but it would be better to replace the whole drive since its 2 years old.

if your xbox 360 starts freezing on startup or gets red lights flashing on the circle of light then its your system thats gone bad not your laser, hopefully its not your system then its more complicated to fix.
