I was successful in backing up my NAND(whatever that stands for, lol) so no worries about bricking my wii. I followed a tutorial on youtube and was curious to know if i have to have bootmii on a seperate SD card or can it be on the same SD card that allows me to use apps through homebrew? I recall hearing bootmii should be on its on SD card but i just want to know from the veterans how it should be or how it can be. any insight is appreciated

Hello Cecila, as along as your card is big enough for all your apps etc, you can use the same SD card.
Thats how i work and have had no trouble at all.

Just to add, when others were saying that bootmii should be on it's own SD card they were referring to the nand dump not the files that bootmii places on the card when you prepared it in the hackmii installer.

... I would hope that your SD card would have enough space to have those intial bootmii files...

Saying at least your SD card is 1GB or more.

Meaning you have room for apps, ect.

If you do want to have two SD cards (to store it away) then make sure you have at least homebrew on the one with the backup of your wii

I hated BootMii starting all the time (since I am installed to boot2) so I don't even have the BootMii folder on my SD Card. I saved the BootMii folder and my nand.bin to my PC storage drive and also burnt a copy to a DVD.

So you really don't need it on the SD Card at all until you want to launch into BootMii then transfer the BootMii folder back to the SD card.
